The proceedings of the 2006 Yosemite workshop will be published as a special issue of Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics, published by Elsevier.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINAL SUBMISSION

For the final manuscript submission, authors must upload the electronic files and mail a hardcopy to the editors.

 

ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION

 

Please upload your final documents, including a separate cover letter, manuscript and figures files, to the ftp site.

Please indicate which figures should be printed in colour and agree to pay the costs involved. Figures not listed will NOT be printed in colour in the journal.


MANUSCRIPT:  The final manuscript should be in Word or Latex (or similar) format. Please do not include the figures within the document. Please name your file according to the following convention: M_Spasojevic.tex (or .doc)
 

FIGURE FILES:  See notes below for graphic file types. Upload each of the figures as separate file named as: M_Spasojevic_fig01.eps, M_Spasojevic_fig02.eps, etc

 

HARDCOPY SUBMISSION

Author’Äôs checklist for submission of accepted manuscripts

 

  • Please ensure that all accepted manuscripts comply with the following:

 

  • Short abstract/summary                                                        

 

  • 4-6 keywords of your own choice                                                     

 

  • Complete reference list                                                         

 

  • All tables cited in the text are supplied                                            

 

  • All original figures are supplied (not photocopies)                    

 

  • All figure legends are supplied                                               

 

  • Tables, figures and figure legends are supplied separately, not embedded in text                                                        
  • Corresponding author identified

Colour online is free

Colour in the printed copy of the journal costs

Euro 350 for one page and Euro 175 for consecutive pages

Guide for Electronic Graphics Preparation

 

PLEASE DO NOT:

  • Do not use screendump graphics as originals. They are of low resolution, and will cause technical problem.
  • Do not send file formats such as: GIF, BMP, PICT, WPG or DOC
  • Do not send graphic/image files enclosed in MS-Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Powerpoint or any other word processing / spreadsheet / presentation program.

 

PLEASE DO

  • You must always submit a high-quality original hard copy of every figure together with you manuscript.
  • Each electronic file image should be identical in size to the final version appearing in the journal.

 

 

Suggested drawing/image applications you can use for your graphic images:

  • Adobe Illustrator
  • CroleDraw
  • Freehand

 

If you do not have access to the above drawing/image applications, please convert the drawing or graphic images in your application to one of the formats listed below. Please note the required resolution.

 

Convert to:

¬…       EPS    Vector and bitmap drawings/photos; always use 72 dpi, and enclose the font

  • JPEG   Color or Grayscale Photographs (halftones): always 300 dpi. Color images always use CMYK.
  • JPEG   Combinations line/halftone: a minimum of 500 dpi is required. Color images always use CMYK.
  • TIFF   Line Figures: use between 600 and 1000 dpi
  • TIFF   Combinations line/half-tone: a minimum of 500 dpi is required.

 

PLEASE NOTE: If the electronic version does not meet the above standards, the hardcopy will be used in the production process.
